                                   Believe it or not Mary

You gave me this Victoria with a wee stash of old magazines you'd had returned to you...this one was special because you had written on the inside for Karen ...

But look It's May/June 2013 and it's in Provence AND it's all the places I went...

even the same markets.. I couldn't believe it as I read it felt like deja vu.
I thought  to myself "hell's teeth I only just wrote my last blog post about this place"....

Mary Mary .......You have done it again.

I love it when these wonderful synchronicities happen.

We are continually shaped by the forces of coincidence.
                       Paul Auster

Its a gorgeous day today. The lawns are all tidy again with leaves sucked up by the mower.
I picked a couple of little posies,it is so hard to find flowers in the garden at the minute.

I am contemplating new wallpaper for the newly revamped kids room....
Pretty florals on one wall only...

or a mural to remind us of the heron....

I did ask the girls to paint something...a night sky or some flowers..

Isn't this lovely ...good tracing too...

I love this one ....It tells me it is time to start showing the little ones more of the night sky ...I fancy a trip to an observatory is on the cards.

I found this gorgeous old book at the op shop and think it will be great  for the kiddies to copy some of the gorgeous pictures

I love it when we are all sitting around the table painting...
Then at night all tucked up in Oma's bed, reading and laughing .....

I have been trying a new style at my painting classes .I like it ...

I will be missing a weekend workshop at Borland can't be two places at once.

My lovely friend Kath will be going..her and sweet daughter Kate dropped by when Willow died and gave me the most beautiful Camilla and a gorgeous bunch of flowers...
Friends really are so special.

Well it is time to go read my dish magazine to inspire me to cook something nice...
It's a wonderful magazine with a great blog and facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/dishmagazine

Books and magazines are such a nice way to distract us all ....

This post is for you Mary ....for the granny's and the dreamers...

Have a lovely week-end  everyone. I am going to follow the sun.

Maybe next time I'll send you a message Raewyn ...I haven't forgotten

                     Goodbye Winter

I will not miss Winter. This year it seems to have been colder and it certainly was hard to get away from the cosy fire.
I have a cough that just refuses to go and keeps me awake half the night.
I thought Winter was meant to kill the bugs .

We cannot stop the winter or the summer from coming. We cannot stop the spring or the autumn or make them other than they are. They are gifts from the universe that we cannot refuse. But we can choose what we will contribute to life when each arrive Gary Zukav

Many many  years ago my singing teacher taught me a little song and now I sing it to my grandchildren...It sums up how I feel right now.

I am longing for the spring and to hear the songbirds sing and to gather once again the violets blue...for I'm tired of Winter drear though of course it has it's cheer ...but I long for sunny spring again ...don't you?

Soon the lambs will be at play and the hedge rows decked with May and the Tui's song will echo clear and true...soon the yellow daffodil will the dear old orchard fill ...How i long for Sunny spring again.
Don't you?

Sometime  in my teens I was given a little puzzle to solve .
I had to find the error in this sentence.

Paris in the
the spring.
Of course the error is easy to spot typed like this but I remember looking at that piece of paper and the words for ages before working out the puzzle. The funny thing was I imagined Paris in the Spring and imagined it being amazing and longing to go.

In the Spring of 2013 I was in France...and did visit Paris in the Spring....
but the highlight was my time in Provence....

I loved France for it's culture...and Provence well it smelled of sweet honey and thyme..

the sun warmed the clay buildings and even that earth smell was appealing..

The linens and art

the wafts of lavender

We just loved the avenues and lanes

I embraced the markets

In France, cooking is a serious art form and a national sport.

Spring in May seems odd.

Hubby was more then impressed with the engineering feat of perched villages but then we both loved

the fields of poppies

and the afternoon shadows

Spring AHHHHHHHHHHHH

Back home Spring brings with it the surprise of little caches of Quail eggs

the scent of daphne

the bright yellow glow of the aconite

and my old favourites ...the snow drops...

Goodbye Winter.....I will not miss you....

Oh, Spring! I want to go out and feel you and get inspiration. My old things seem dead. I want fresh contacts, more vital searching.
Have a fabulous week exploring all the treasures Spring is throwing our way ....I know its still 23 days away but the early signs are here if you just go out and find them....
