                            Cup and saucer posy's

Yet again that old man time creeps up ...yes....  time to have my lovely friends visit.
Some of the delightful residents from Elmslie House come by the garden  and this time I decided to pick up some cups and saucers from the local recycle center to make cup and saucer posy's with them.

I selected the flowers and cut them ready ,cut up the oasis and popped a piece in each cup then filled each cup with water. The ladies got to, quick smart with big smiles lots of laughter and nimble florist fingers.

What a delightful way to spend a Summer day.

Thank goodness the Spring was late this year ...so many blooms ready.

You're only here for a short visit. Don't hurry, don't worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way.

Deep in their roots, all flowers keep the light.

Give me odorous at sunrise a garden of beautiful flowers where I can walk undisturbed.
Walt Whitman
this was my favourite one

Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul. Luther Burbank
This lovely lady even sang for me

How happy everyone was

Some think love can be measured by the amount of butterflies in their tummy. Others think love can be measured in bunches of flowers, or by using the words 'for ever.' But love can only truly be measured by actions. It can be a small thing, such as peeling an orange for a person you love because you know they don't like doing it.
Marian Keyes
How lucky am I to have these very special people in my life

Back at Elmslie House what a pretty show.

Little things seem nothing, but they give peace, like those meadow flowers which individually seem odorless but all together perfume the air.

                                Spring Time

Violets are Blue and white and pink.
So thankful for my friend Mary who sent me a few violets to plants ...THANK YOU MARY

I love those first wee harbingers of Spring...

It is time to get out of the Winter mode....roll up the thick mats take the feather covers off the beds...turn off the heatpump and get down and dirty in the soil....

Thanks to Vic and Jamie for the amazing oxalis that flutters it's foliage like butterflies..

To dear ( Late) Jean Young for those first Winter aconites so long ago ,now nurtured and returning every year..

To my darling friend (Late) Karonious ...always think of you when this little clump appears.xxx

My Lovely friend Heather for one of several Winter roses...

It is so nice to visit my friends in the garden......They nod in the wind they survive the deepest snow and chilliest frosts they give so much to me in the way of seeds and colour and they always look their best....Just like the friends that gave them to me they have proven robust and long lasting and are a kind way to remember  friends and of love shared....How happy I am to be a gardener.

I would far rather be in my garden then be any other place in Spring....

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust
